The Hit Zone Jr is a great unit for kids in the 3-6 range. 2 Year olds love it too! The ball floats at about the right height for players in this age group. We also include a bonus 14.5 inch sleeve, so your player will be able to continue using the Jr unit as they get older. My daughter is 5' 8" and she hits on the JR unit.

The Jr model comes with 8 dimpled plastic
training balls. Just about any light weight ball will work.

The Hit Zone Jr only weighs about 5 pounds. It is light and compact, making it easy to bring with the to the cabin, the local ball park, or Grandpa's home!

It operates on a standard 110V outlet. When using outside, be sure to use a GFI outlet.

When used by younger kids, adult supervision is recommended.

A Number Of Balls Work Great On The Hit Zone Jr!

Here's A Fun Idea!

In addition to the balls that come with your Hit Zone, its a good idea to have a practice bucket with a variety of balls in it. Have some that are different sizes and different weights.  They will act and react differently, giving your player the look of a variety of pitches.

After all, a real pitch doesn't just sit there on the tee waiting to be hit!

Hit Zone Jr FAQ

We have done our best to try and answer any questions you may have about the Hit Zone hitting tees. We spent 4 years developing the Hit Zone and receiving the patent. As a result, we have a lot of knowledge about the Hit Zone! If you don't find the answer to your question here, feel free to contact us through our contact page.

What's Special About The Hit Zone Tee?

Others have created a baseball air tee and received a patent on it, but they all did  the logical thing! They used material, such as PVC plastic pipe, to deliver the air stream. As with the Tee, you hit it, you're going to knock it over or break it. We use a fabric sleeve to deliver the air. Your bat or racket hit it - no big deal - you'll swing right through it! Our idea was so unique; the U.S. Patent office gave us a good old patent on the Hit Zone air powered batting tee!

What age group is the Hit Zone Jr practice tee good for?

With the younger children, as long as they can swing the bat, they are ready for the Hit Zone Jr. With the younger kids, adult supervision is necessary to insure its proper use.

For player 6 or younger, the Hit Zone
Jr is probably your best choice. We do include a bonus 14.5 inch sleeve so your kids can grow with their Hit Zone or practice at different heights. The Hit Zone  comes with a 9" tall sleeve. When using the 14.5" sleeve, the ball floats high enough where older kids can also use the JR unit.

If you are debating which Hit Zone to get for your kid, if they are 6 & under, the Hit Zone Jr is a good choice. If your kid is tall for their age or they are 7 and older, the Hit Zone Standard would be the recommended choice.

What's the difference between the "Baseball" & "Tennis unit?

The only difference is the model numbers and logo on the unit. The baseball/softball units come with high quality dimpled plastic training balls. The tennis units come with Tourna foam tennis balls. They both function the same, so if you would like to use it to practice for both sports, go for it!

What type of outlet do I need?

A standard 110V is needed. The Hit Zone practice tee comes with a grounded cord. Use a grounded 3 prong extension cord. It is also very important that when using the Hit Zone outdoors, you use a GFI grounded outlet.

Need 220-220V - no problem. For an additional $10, we can out fit your Hit Zone with 220V and the proper plug for your country. We will also need to calculate the shipping. Please contact for details.

Can I adjust the height of the ball?

The stream of air coming from the Hit zone Jr is not adjustable, so there are
a few easy ways to adjust the height of the ball. The sleeve that comes with
the Hit Zone air tee is 9 inches long. This height covers the typical strike zone
for most kids. We also include a bonus  14.5 inch sleeve so you can float
the ball almost 6 inches higher!

You can also adjust the height of the balls by the type of ball you use.
Different types of balls will float at different heights depending on their size
and weight. It is fun to experiment!

How loud is the Hit Zone?

The Hit Zone contains a blower motor to produce the air flow.  When in use,
the Hit Zone sounds like a vacuum cleaner.

What type of ball works best on the Hit Zone Jr air tee?

A number of light training balls work great on the Hit Zone Jr practice tee!
It's fun having a mixture of balls in the bucket! They often react a little
different, giving you a different looking pitch.

A sampling includes:

  • Franklin dimpled pitching machine balls

  • Sandlot dimpled training balls

  • SKLZ Derick Jeter 5-Tool Foam balls

  • JUGS Lite-Flite Baseball & Softball

  • Atec, Trend Sports, & SKLZ foam balls

  • Plastic "Jump House" balls (For Jr & Deluxe)

These are just a few!

A standard baseball & softball will not work well with the Hit Zone Jr.
They are too heavy. You can see a video of various balls being used
on the different units at the bottom of the Baseball Details page.

The Hit Zone Deluxe has a variable speed control which allows you to
use a wider variety of balls as it is more powerful and you can adjust the
strength of the air flow.

What's the scoop on the sleeve?

The sleeve is made out of heavy duty Rip Stop nylon. It is very durable and
made for outdoor use. Additional replacement sleeves can be purchased
